(TAP) - As the opening lines of “Hat voi dong song” filled the venue, the atmosphere of the “Hen voi mua xuan” music event fell into a quiet hush, opening the door to shared memories. Through her expressive voice and emotional performance, singer Khanh Anh brought the audience back to familiar memories of their homeland and peaceful childhood afternoons by the river. Thousands of miles from Vietnam, in Arizona, those familiar melodies became a bridge connecting cherished memories from the past with the present moment.

Although several days have passed, the “Hen voi mua xuan” music event, organized by Ricky M Entertainment at Gila River Resorts & Casinos in Arizona on May 30, 2026, its memories continue to linger in the hearts of the audience. For them, the music event was more than just an evening of entertainment. It provided an opportunity for the Vietnamese community to reconnect, share meaningful moments, and find a sense of belonging through songs that carried the spirit of their homeland.
The music event attracted more than 1,000 audience members, including the Vietnamese community in Arizona, attendees from across the United States, local Americans, and visitors from Vietnam. Throughout the evening, Khanh Anh’s expressive voice guided the audience through a wide range of emotions with familiar Vietnamese songs.

Opening her performance with “Hat voi dong song”, Khanh Anh took the audience back to familiar memories of their homeland and childhood. She then continued with “Thao thuc vi anh”, “De cho em khoc”, “Vung troi binh yen”, and “Nhu van con day” - well-loved Vietnamese love songs familiar to audiences who enjoy lyrical and light Vietnamese music.
While Khanh Anh performed “Hat voi dong song” and “Thao thuc vi anh” in a gentle and heartfelt style, drawing the audience into the emotions of each song, the atmosphere became more lively in the latter part of her performance with new arrangements of “De cho em khoc”, “Vung troi binh yen”, and “Nhu van con day”. The transition from soulful melodies to more upbeat performances showcased her versatility and took the audience through a wide range of emotions.

Khanh Anh impressed the audience with her expressive voice and emotional performance style. Rather than focusing on vocal techniques, she emphasized the meaning and emotions of each song, allowing the audience to connect with every performance. She also showed a warm and approachable side through her natural interactions with the audience. Between songs, she took a few moments to thank everyone and share brief stories about each piece, helping listeners better understand the emotions behind the music. Her openness helped bring the stage and the audience closer together, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout the music event.

After the event, many audience members stayed behind to chat, take commemorative photos, and congratulate the singer. Among them was Jan Nguyen, a Vietnamese American entrepreneur and the founder and CEO of The Kickin’ Crab, a seafood restaurant chain with more than 40 locations across the United States. She praised Khanh Anh for her natural stage presence, expressive vocals, and ability to connect with the audience. In her view, the singer’s performance was one of the evening’s most memorable highlights.
For Kellee Myers and her husband, the music event also became a memorable part of their personal celebration. Offering a brief but heartfelt compliment, she described Khanh Anh as “beautiful, wonderful, and a perfect 10”. Dancer Isaías “The Realest” was particularly impressed by Khanh Anh’s striking appearance and distinctive sense of style. Although he only met the singer while she was greeting audience members and posing for photos after the performance, he could immediately sense her positive energy and friendly personality.

These brief encounters after the performance reflected the audience's affection for Khanh Anh, adding to the lasting memories of the music event. Although the event has ended, the melodies of “Hen voi mua xuan” seem to linger in the memories of many. Sometimes, what people remember most from a music event is not only the songs or the stage lights, but also the feeling of being closer to one another while far from home.
